Married At First Sight Australia groom Richard has defended sexual comments he made on the show after his and Andrea's fate was sealed this week.
Andrea Thompson, 52 claimed her husband Richard Sauerman's explicit remarks during one of the Commitment Ceremonies made her question if she wanted to be with him, and ever since we've been watching the breakdown of their marriage unfold on the show. The pair sadly parted ways on last night's episode (15 April) - but fans saw it coming.
Now the motivational speaker, 62, has broken his silence on the cheeky comments, explaining why he didn't hold back when dishing out details about him and Andrea's sex life to the MAFS experts.
In an interview with Yahoo! Australia's podcast Behind The Edit, Richard brushed the scene off as "a bit of fun" and claimed it was all said in context. He explained: "I normally wouldn't say under the spotlight we s***** and we f***** and we had a great week. I don't go around talking about my sex life like that to anybody, it's a showman, it's intimacy week.
"It's MAFS, like what do you mean, let's go with it and have a bit of fun. It was intimacy week. This was the context in which I said this, it wasn't just out of the blue as if I'm with a group of friends."

However, Andrea wasn't happy with her husband's brazen account of their intimate moments, as she told the experts on the show: "The way Richie spoke about us and the words he used, I think that really affected me emotionally." She added that she "felt disrespected" and her "bubble burst".
When Richard made the comments, fans took to X to share their horror, as one viewer wrote: "Richard and Andy are over. The communication between them is dreadful. He is super sensitive and needs consent assurance. She takes a lot of things to heart and just shuts down. It's a mess."
While another echoed: "Richard and Andrea's romance is dead and buried, thanks to Richard."
In last night's episode (Monday 15), Andrea told the experts she was "devastated" over Richard not listening to her, and Richard claimed they "started so well but have gone downhill", to which Andrea said it was because they "didn't know each other". We then saw Richard get emotional as he gave himself a hard time for "failing massively" with Andrea.
