Zayn Malik has shared a super rare update on his young daughter, Khai, and revealed he's been playing secret gigs in LA.

The musician shares his daughter with model Gigi Hadid whom he was in an on-off relationship between 2015 and 2021. But since their pair split, they have remained amicable to co-parent the youngster. Nowadays, the former One Direction star splits his time between the UK and his sprawling ranch in Pennsylvania.

But one revelation has left many stunned after the 31-year-old revealed that his farm is in fact, filled with animals across the estate that both he and Khai tend to when they spend time together. During a mega-rare interview, the Bradford-born superstar shed light on his farm and his life away from the spotlight.

"I've got a farm, I've lived on my farm for about five or six years now," he told Capital FM Breakfast's Jordan North, Chris Stark and Sian Welby. The No Candle No Light singer went on to reveal he has tonnes of animals and it was far from just an American Dream farm.

He said: "I've got chickens, couple of turtles, dogs, cats. Eventually going to branch out to making it a bit more of a proper farm when I have the time, but it's a lot of work looking after a lot of animals, I want horses eventually, would like to get some horses."

But Zayn isn't alone as he shared an insight into life on the ranch and how he believes naming each animal shows a "good owner". He commented: "You have to be somewhat connected to your animals, and I like to name, my daughter helps me with naming them now too so it's fun."

The musician who is known for his love of cartoons and artistic ways has paid homage to his younger years by naming his turtles after the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles gang, revealing: "I have three now. Raph, Mikey and Donatello, one of them died quite recently that was quite sad."

Ahead of his upcoming studio album, which is released on May 17, the musician opened up about his last public performance but revealed he has been secretly performing at various karaoke nights across Los Angeles. "I don't know if there's any footage of it, hopefully not, but yeah probably a few karaoke nights in between for sure," he said.

Reflecting on the name of his album, Room Under The Stairs, Malik explained he was inspired by a film titled Children Under The Stairs which he often watched as a child. But, his record was also recorded in a cupboard under a staircase, similar to JK Rowling's Harry Potter.
