Liam Payne's former fiancée Maya Henry isn't holding back with her bombshell novel.

The American actress has revealed she's started work on her debut book, which will explore a wide range of topics and comes with several trigger warnings. Liam, 30, and Maya, 23, became engaged in August 2020, just one year after they were first spotted together.

But by June 2021, their relationship soured with the pair eventually splitting, with Liam stating he "wasn't able to be the best version" of himself. Two months later, their romance was back on but in April 2022, they split once again after he was seen embracing a social media influencer from behind.

Now, Maya has sparked concern about her new book, which she says has been inspired by experiencing "pain". The news comes after Liam dropped his latest single, Teardrops, his first single since his 2020 track, Naughty List featuring influencer Dixie D'Amelio. A source close to the former couple hinted that Maya's novel could be about their romance.

"Maya Henry has written a novel inspired by a true love story," they exclusively told the Mirror. Our source added: "Everyone has teardrops. Teardrops inspire songs. They inspire novels, too." Maya shared the news about her project on her Instagram page in view of her 698,000 followers.

She said: "2020 was a dark and scary time for all of us. I was coming off a period in my life filled with a lot of pain. However, I learned that the great thing about pain is that it can inspire something beautiful. Writing has always been my passion, and I journaled about my experiences throughout the pandemic. Eventually, this journal evolved into a novel.

"I'm very nervous to share a project that was once my most personal outlet of joy and freedom - a story I never intended to share. I hope that by doing so, anyone out there experiencing similar trauma and hardships as my main character will feel less alone." Looking Forward, which currently has no release date comes with several warnings.

Maya told fans: "This book contains sensitive material relating to abuse, violence, self-harm, drug and alcohol use, eating disorders and abortion." Her social media followers have since praised Maya for opening up, with one writing: "She's allowed to tell her story, her trauma, and share her vulnerability without you all making it about someone else. Lead with compassion and realize she's a human being with very real and raw emotions and experiences."

While former The Only Way Is Essex star Vas J Morgan penned: "So proud of you. Incredibly brave of you to share such intimate moments with us all. Can't wait to read." "The world needs more of this. Thanks for being vulnerable and sharing," commented one fan.
