A TEENAGER has been charged after a lad was allegedly beaten by a gang of knife-wielding youths in a busy city centre.
The alleged daylight assault happened on St Andrews Street in Dundee.
It is claimed a group of youths approached the lad yesterday evening.
Images appeared to show the youngsters brandishing knives.
The teen attempted to flee them and started running down the street.

He is then knocked to the ground.
The teen is then allegedly repeatedly punched and kicked by his attackers.
Cops were scrambled to the scene after being alerted to the alleged attack.
Officers arrived at the scene and began searching for a group of youths.
Cops confirmed they were later found nearby.
A 13-year-old has since been charged over the alleged attack.
Police say a report will be made to the relevant authority.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6pm on Monday, we were called to a report of a disturbance on St Andrews Street, Dundee.
“Officers attended and traced a group of youths nearby a short time later.
“A 13-year-old male youth has been charged in connection with the incident.
