Aston Martin F1 team has cheekily clapped back at Taylor Swift following a lyrical 'dig' from her latest album that seems to allude to her fleeting romance with their driver, Fernando Alonso.

Swift's alleged brief fling with Alonso in 2023 was before she moved on to NFL star Travis Kelce. It looks like Alonso might have inspired some of the biting lyrics in Swift's new record 'The Tortured Poets Department'.

In her track 'imgonnagetyouback', Swift sings: "I'm an Aston Martin that you steered straight into the ditch, then ran and hid", which fans speculate is a nod to their past relationship, continuing her trend of weaving former flames into her songs.

Following the album drop last Friday, Aston Martin took to social media with a sly retort on TikTok. The post features Alonso browsing on a tablet with Swift's tune playing over it, before he gestures for silence with his finger to his lips.

Originally, the footage showed Alonso addressing speculation about leaving Aston Martin, only to confirm his stay with a fresh two-year contract. Despite some backlash from fans, the move seemed to tickle the fancy of many Swift enthusiasts, who praised the F1 team's inventive jab.

One fan penned: "I'm a Swiftie forever but I have to admit that this is brilliant," whilst another quipped: "Whoever posted this needs a raise... very, very good," and a third chimed in: "When I heard the song my first thought was Aston admin is so going to make a TikTok about this."

Although it's rumoured Alonso and Swift were an item, the truth is they've never confirmed their relationship and there are no shared snaps of them on social media - leading many to dismiss it as mere speculation. However, with Swift dropping her latest album last Friday, whispers of their past connection are starting to sound more plausible.

One thrilled fan posted: "The Taylonso confirmation we needed," while another commented: "Taylonso is real." Not long after the alleged Alonso-Swift fling, Swift was spotted with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Kelce. The couple started their romance in August, officially stepping out as a pair the following month at a Chiefs vs Chicago Bears game.

Throughout the NFL season, the pop star has been a sideline staple, attending 13 games to cheer on the Chiefs - she even flew 13 hours from Tokyo to Las Vegas to see him secure his third Super Bowl victory.

Now, both Swift and Kelce are enjoying some well-deserved downtime. Swift will soon be gearing up for the European leg of her tour - a three-month journey starting in Austria and ending in France.
