Meghan Markle's close friend Tyler Perry has been praised for his dedication to his work, with one of his former co-stars sharing a key piece of advice from the filmmaker.
Tyler, 54, has had a hugely successful career and is well-known for creating, writing and producing the hit US sitcom For Better Or Worse. The show followed the lives of married couple Marcus and Angela and starred Cocoa Brown, Tasha Smith and Brad James.
Brad was just starting out as an actor when he landed the role of Todderick "Todd" Andrews. Reflecting on the experience of working on the show, Brad has told The Mirror he has a "tonne of fond memories".

He heaped praise on Tyler Perry (Getty Images)"I made a lot of great friends on that, I got to work with someone who would go on to become one of the biggest producers in Hollywood history in Tyler Perry and it was my first television series. I'd done some streaming series and some film work before that, but it's really special to me because of that and I'll always have love for sitcoms just because of that experience," he told us."

Brad also heaped praise on Tyler. He spoke to The Mirror about what he learned from the Hollywood film producer. "I think the best thing that Tyler taught me is to keep your mind open to possibilities and show up every day.
"You know, one thing I always thought about Tyler was there's got to be three of him because there was no way he was writing all of our episodes, directing all of our episodes, changing the lines live while we're there, directing the cameras and all the camera action and going onto another show after he's done taping ours and then hopping on a plane, no exaggeration, and then flying out to do stage plays in another state," Brad said.

Brad said he was very grateful for his time on For Better Or Worse, adding: "To kind of start off your career with that kind of example is a little bit of a cheat code for sure."
Brad is now starring in the Netflix film Shirley which tells the story of the first-ever Black congresswoman Shirley Chisholm and her campaign to become the President of the United States. In the movie, which will be released on Netflix on March 22, Brad plays the founder of the Black Panther's Huey P Newton.
Speaking about the project, he told us: "It's always special when you can be a part of something that's been made really, really well and tells a slice of history that isn’t commonly told." Brad added: "Aside from being just entertaining, people are gonna learn about the adventures of a lot of the historical figures that are gonna be showcased in this film and these become your first introduction to these characters, characters onscreen but real life people with real life historical stories. So it’s really important."
