PRINCE Harry is getting a lot off his chest - but much of what he's saying about his father just simply isn't true.

I have known King Charles for over 40 years and I know that he has never wanted to fall out with either of his sons.

So, Harry's insistence that he has made no attempt to reconcile with him is just rubbish.

Let's look at the facts.

Last year when Her Majesty the Queen died Charles made sure Harry was a key part of the state occasions.

He allowed him to wear his uniform at the Queen's vigil.

He gave him a prime position at the funeral.

He allowed him to do the walkabout with Prince William at Windsor, meeting grieving members of the public.

And, perhaps most significantly, Charles spoke lovingly of him and Meghan in his first speech as our new King.

These are not the actions of someone who has no wish to reconcile.

There are other things that don't sit right with me in Harry’s book.

He says that after he and William had a physical fight that his first call was to his therapist, who presumably he had on speed dial.

But when he and Meghan sat down with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, his wife claimed that when she was suffering from mental health problems she received no support from the Royal Family, even when she asked for treatment.

So where was Harry's therapist in all this? If they could not help, perhaps they knew someone who could?

There are also inconsistencies with his claims the Sussexes were forced to live in Nottingham Cottage which was far less fancy than his brother's Kensington Palace apartment.

William’s apartment was much bigger and included reception rooms for visiting heads of state and overseas visitors for when he became Prince of Wales.

On a state visit a president, or king or queen would be received by William at Kensington Palace.

I remember those famous pictures of the Obamas meeting Prince George there in his dressing gown.

Most young married couples would give anything for a two-bed cottage rent free at the start of their life together.

But nothing seems to please this couple.

So Harry and Meghan insisted on fitting their next home, Frogmore Cottage with the best of everything, often from upmarket Soho Home - that £5,000 copper bath springs to mind.

I believe the bill for all that was picked up by Charles.

Harry could easily have paid for it himself - because he and Wills both received exactly the same amount from their dad each year, a not ungenerous £2 million.

In the UK Harry was ‘somebody’ but now he is just one celebrity in a town full of celebs and instead of supporting the king and his own brother he just moans about them.

I know Charles will find all these claims very frustrating.

He won't respond, of course he won't.

And if he did, I'm fairly sure he would be summoning the spirit of his "darling mama" and say: ‘some recollections may vary’.
