BBC reveals fate of Beyond Paradise after two series and whopping ratings

THE BBC has now revealed the fate of Beyond Paradise after two series on screens.

The first episode of the highly-anticipated second instalment has so far been seen by 7.5 million fans.

But it has now been revealed that Beyond Paradise will return to BBC One for new episodes.

The popular drama has been recommissioned for a Christmas special to air later this year.

Fans will also no doubt be ecstatic at the prospect of a third series which which will come to BBC One and iPlayer at some point next year.

The second series saw the two main characters Humphrey (Kris Marshall) and Martha (Sally Bretton) nearly get married.

They welcomed Ryan into their home as their fostering journey comes to a conclusion in heart-warming scenes.

Meanwhile, Esther (Zahra Ahmadi) took on the case after the prized possession of the Shipton Abbott Museum robbed.

This was also as the working relationship between Kelby (Dylan Llewellyn) and CS Charlie Wood (Jade Harrison) took a rather dramatic turn.

The series follows the Shipton Abbott police team attempt to solve a string of complicated case to keep the station house open into the future.

These have so far included a death during a murder-mystery play which was shown on a steam train.

Other plots have also seen local fishing legend going missing at sea as well as the story of a psychic medium who predicted an arson attack.

The BBC hinted that that the popularity of the hit-show could be the reason why more episodes are on their way.

Director of BBD Drama Lindsay Salt explained: "Beyond Paradise has become such a huge hit with millions of viewers across the UK.

"It’s a show that is absolutely on a roll, and we’re beyond pleased to bring more fiendishly clever mysteries from the Shipton Abbott team to the BBC."

The producers of the series have promised to take viewers on a journey that will make them 'laugh, cry' and possibly confuse them.

Tim Key, executive producer for Red Planet Pictures said: "I can promise that we’ll be making the viewers laugh, cry, laugh a bit more and then baffling them with a series of ingenious puzzles."

He added: "There will also be a duck."

Beyond Paradise is distributed by BBC Studios to an international audience,

The two series have so far been shown to nearly 60 territories worldwide with huge markets in the UK, US and South Africa.
