Frank Warren has revealed that the All-British heavyweight fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua could take place in March next year, with Saudi Arabia likely to host the event.

Despite announcing themselves as two of the sport's top heavyweights in recent years, the British pair are yet to meet in the ring. This could finally be set to change though, with Warren providing an all-important update that the wait could come to an end in 12 months' time.

Discussing the future of his star man Fury , Warren told Sky Sports: "Next March, if Tyson does what I believe he'll do and AJ continues to win, I'm sure that'll set up a big fight.

"It's like going back to the late 60s, 70s, that's what's happening now. These guys are all fighting each other."

There is no doubt that UK boxing fans would like to see a clash between Fury and Joshua on home soil, but as has often been the case over the past year, Warren believes the Middle East will be the likely destination for the fight.

"I've got to be honest, I think that is where it will go," Warren added. "Of course, I'd like them in the UK. I look back when I was younger - all those many, many, many years ago - I look at all those really great fighters like Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, where did they put their big fight on?

"The Rumble in the Jungle [in what was then Zaire]. Where did George Foreman fight Frazier? In Jamaica. The Thriller in Manila. That's what happens. Because they went where the money is. Those fights I mentioned took place in places you'd never dream of boxing taking place.

"Traditionally it would have either gone to New York, then it became Vegas with the casinos." Before any sort of bout with Joshua, Fury faces the task of taking on fellow heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk, with the pair set to meet at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh in May.

On the back of Joshua's latest victory over Francis Ngannou, the Englishman called out Fury, but speaking in the aftermath, the Gypsy King confirmed his countryman will have to wait due to a rematch clause with Usyk. "I think there’s quite a long way to go," he told DAZN.

"for some reason, over the last five years, there’s always been some s*** that gets in the way of it. This time the s*** is the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world, so that’s on the back burner for now. Great performance from AJ, fantastic, but, unfortunately I’ve got bigger fish to fry in Usyk on May 18, then we have a rematch in October.” Seemingly still keen to take Joshua on, Fury added: "“After that, if he’s still available and I’m still available, let’s get it on.”
