Liverpool's next head coach, Arne Slot, does not see himself as a strict disciplinarian, it has been claimed.
The Feyenoord chief, 45, emerged as the Reds' top target to succeed Jurgen Klopp earlier this month and his appointment is expected to be confirmed this week after both clubs reached an agreement over compensation for his services.
One of Klopp's final games at the helm was overshadowed at the weekend by a touchline bust-up with Mohamed Salah after the Liverpool forward was dropped for the must-win match at West Ham. And while the clash has divided opinion, a report highlighting Slot's approach to discipline has since resurfaced.
The Athletic notes that while the Dutchman has a system of set fines for players like most coaches, he does not see his role as 'akin to a school teacher' and has fostered a culture where players are empowered to make positive choices at Feyenoord.
That environment has helped Slot elevate Feyenoord back into the upper echelons of the Eredivisie during his three-year tenure. It was also the catalyst for last year's Dutch title triumph - Feyenoord's first domestic title in six years.

While official confirmation of Slot's next move is expected imminently, Klopp still has a handful of games left before he bids Anfield an emotional farewell next month.
While he was quick to downplay Saturday's row with Salah, insisting that the issue was quashed post-match in the dressing room, others have criticised the Egypt international.

He wrote: "Mo Salah & Jurgen Klopp are both @LFC legends. We don't need to take sides! Salah is frustrated & angry with Jurgen that he's not playing & at that moment didn't want to fully embrace the boss, Jurgen understandably took exception.
"Mo was daft with his comment in the mixed zone but let's let them sort it out & enjoy the last few weeks together. They’ve been a massive help to each other in all that’s been achieved at the club!"
Salah is about to enter the final year of his contract and there had been speculation even before the weekend that he could be sold amid interest from Saudi Arabia. It has since emerged, though, that both he and the club want him to play a key role under Slot.
