A WOMAN has been praised for her very clever tattoo which will save her loads of time doing DIY.
Julie showed off her "functional" inking in a video on her TikTok page, as she explained how she makes the most of it in every situation.
She began the clip by showing her finger - which had measurement marks tattooed on the side - up against a traditional measuring tape.
Julie then used the inking to measure the width of a plank of wood, before figuring out the depth of a glass of water, some concrete and even a business card.
And people in the comments section were quick to weigh in on the tattoo, with many praising Julie's ingenuity.

"Rare occurrence of a tattoo that isn't completely pointless!" one wrote.
"They called a functional tattoo," another added.

And others said that Julie isn't the only one to have had the "functional" tattoo on her finger.
"I have a ruler tattoo as a fine dining chef, works a treat," one wrote.
"Genius!" Julie replied.
"I have the same tattoo!" another added.
"I’ve had mine for about 10 years and it’s my absolute favourite!"
"I’ve had a 3 inch ruler tattooed on my index finger for over a decade, it practical AF!!" a third wrote.
