In the post, Lizzo announced that she had left the music industry after being attacked by people in her life and online.

On a bright orange background, she wrote, "I'm getting tired of putting up with being dragged by everyone in my life and on the internet.

"All I want is to make music and make people happy and help the world be a little better than how I found it.

"But, I'm starting to feel like the world doesn't want me in it."

The performer continued, "I'm constantly up against lies being told about me for clout and views...

"Being the butt of the joke every single time because of how I look...

"My character being picked apart by people who don't know me and disrespecting my name."

Lizzo concluded her message, "I didn't sign up for this s**t - I QUIT," with a peace sign emoji.

The famous flute player has been in the music industry since 2011, but her career really took off after her song pop song Good As Hell was released in 2016.

Most recently, she found success when her song Pink was featured in the 2023 Barbie movie.

She was active in the entertainment industry as recently as Thursday night when she appeared at the Democratic National Committee's Radio City Music Hall fundraiser.

Lizzo was one of the headliners at the event where she shared the stage with the last three Democratic presidents.

Critics said her presence at the event was a questionable choice because of the harassment allegations aimed at her last August, according to Daily News.
