Patrick Mahomes is on course to becoming the greatest quarterback in NFL history after what he has achieved in his first five years as a starter.

This past weekend, the Kansas City Chiefs superstar played in his fifth straight AFC championship game, and is now set to play in his third Super Bowl all before the age of 28.

A strong case can be made for Mahomes being the most talented quarterback of all-time already, showing off traits that just have not been seen before in the NFL - including throwing off platform, consistent touchdown numbers and his absurd arm strength.

And Mahomes made a statement in his most recent performance, playing at an elite level on the highest stage whilst doing so on a high ankle sprain - which keeps many athletes out for as much as six weeks.

Should he defeat the Philadelphia Eagles on February 12, he'll certainly be on path to being the greatest of all-time, but he has now been told what he must do if he wants to secure that title.

NFL hall of famer and UNDISPUTED host, Shannon Sharpe, said: "I don't know if he'll be the GOAT for Super Bowls or MVPs... that is not necessarily the measuring stick that we use, because Michael Jordan or LeBron James do not have the most in the history of the NBA, and are considered the GOATs.

"When you look at Mahomes through five seasons and look at Brady - Mahomes' numbers are much better. I think when it is all said and done, we are going to have a real discussion if he wins this Super Bowl and then another MVP.

"Brady won Super Bowl's, but he never put up the numbers Mahomes did like this so consistently."

Sharpe also referenced that Brady had a 10-year period of not winning the Super Bowl - after defeating the Philadelphia Eagles in 2005 before then beating the 'Legion of Boom' Seattle Seahawks in 2015.

Sharpe added: "He has to win this Super Bowl... no doubt. And then it will be a discussion that we will have to monitor."

Brady has seven Super Bowl's to his name, and may look for an eighth before he retires. The 45-year-old quarterback will become a free agent in just a few weeks, and is currently undecided on whether he will play in the 2023 season.
