A murder suspect has been accused of killing another man at a bus stop near the Las Vegas strip before allegedly eating parts of his face.

Las Vegas police were alerted to an incident where a man had reportedly tackled another man to the ground at around 5 am on Sunday morning on Las Vegas Boulevard near Charleston Boulevard, according to arrest documents. About 45 minutes later, police received a chilling call from a witness who claimed a man was on top of another man at a bus stop, seemingly "eating" his face.

Upon arrival at the scene, police discovered 29-year-old Colin Czech kneeling next to the victim with "biological matter in his hair, mouth and on his clothing," the documents revealed. Czech informed the police that he had been attacked by the man.

When police arrived, the victim was found "unresponsive and bleeding from the head". The victim, later identified as Kenneth Brown, was rushed to a local hospital, where he was sadly pronounced dead. Mr Brown was found missing an eye and had a large gash in part of his head, the documents detailed.

Czech, who is homeless, was reportedly "was going in and out of consciousness" while under police custody, according to the charging documents. He confessed to using his teeth to "to eat [the man's] eyeballs and ears," the documents stated.

Czech told officers he had been awake "for five days straight" because something was "possessing him."

Czech has been charged with murder and remained hospitalised during his scheduled appearance at Las Vegas Justice Court on Monday. His next court hearing is set for Wednesday at 8.30 am.

Cannibalism has been in the news recently for more Presidential reasons. Joe Biden suggested that his missing uncle may have been eaten by cannibals in Papua New Guinea after his plane crashed during World War II.

The 81-year-old US president revealed the bizarre claim during a stop in Pittsburgh in April to speak to members of the United Steelworkers Union. He told the group that uncle Ambrose Finnegan, one of his mother’s four brothers, volunteered to join the military after D-Day.

“He got shot down in an area where there were a lot of cannibals at the time,” Biden told reporters earlier in the day after visiting a Scranton war memorial etched with his uncle’s name. “They never recovered his body, but the government went back when I went down there and they checked and found some parts of the plane.”

Later in his speech to the steelworkers union, he provided some context on uncle Ambrose – who went by the name Brozey – and his time in the Army air corps. “He was a hell of an athlete, they tell me, when he was a kid,” he said hours after flying via Air Force One from Pennsylvania to Pittsburgh. “He flew those single-engine planes as reconnaissance over war zones, and he got shot down in New Guinea.”

Once again, Biden doubled down and said that his uncle’s body might have been eaten. “They never found the body because there used to be, there were a lot of cannibals, for real, in that part of New Guinea,” he added.
