Hay fever sufferers should be prepared for high pollen levels this weekend, according to the Met Office.
The weather forecaster has issued a hay fever warning for Saturday, June 1, and Sunday, June 2 as temperatures reach 23C in some parts of the UK.
Grass pollen is expected to be widespread thanks to seasonal conditions and the warm, dry weather. Nettle, dock & plantain pollen will also be present.
Fungal spore levels are also forecast to be high. These can trigger respiratory symptoms in some people, such as sneezing, runny nose, cough, congestion and wheezing. The Met Office also said there will be some Alternaria and medium Cladosporium during warmer spells, with Leptosphaeria higher after rain, reports MyLondon.
It comes as most parts of Britain look forward to a bright and sunny weekend after several days of miserable rain. Alex Burkhill, meteorologist at the Met Office, said in his latest forecast: "Through Saturday, and away from the very far east of England, it's going be a fine picture. Plenty of fine, settled weather around, lots of sunshine, not necessarily wall-to-wall blue skies but nevertheless a largely bright and sunny day.
Queen honoured in London New Year's fireworks before turning into King Charles"Across the far of England, East Anglia, we'll have some thicker cloud and a few outbreaks of rain perhaps, but it doesn't look like it'll be as wet as Friday. Elsewhere, one or two showers or possible but really, these are very hard to come by. Even if you do catch a shower, they won't last particularly long and will be light."
Warmer temperatures will last into Sunday, although a new frontal system will start to make its way into northeast Scotland throughout the morning, bringing thick cloud and rain that will spread across the far north. Northern Ireland could also see some rainy spells.
The south of England and some areas of Wales will meanwhile enjoy another fine day on Sunday. Temperatures could range between 22-23C in these areas and "perhaps even a little bit higher", according to the Met Office. A more mixed picture is then set to emerge from Monday onwards, with more widespread rain.
