A pair of newlyweds have seen their honeymoon ruined by Covid - leaving them stuck in their Las Vegas hotel room.

Sharing a snap of their positive tests to Reddit's WellThatSucks subreddit, the groom cursed: "My wife and I got Covid on our honeymoon. Several months of planning and a few thousand spent only to be stuck in our hotel in Vegas for half our time there."

After one person suggested the couple should make the most of their married bliss in bed together, the man responded disappointedly that his wife was "knocked out for the rest of the trip".

Offering sympathy, another person penned: "That really, really sucks, and I hope you both make a full and speedy recovery! And, I think at some point in the future, y'all owe yourselves a do over trip. See all the sights you had to miss out on during your honeymoon, play some slots or whatever you're into, eat at nice places, catch some shows, take side trips to look at the breathtaking desert scenery."

A third, who had experienced similar misfortune, added: "This sucks so much! Happened to me and my ex on our honeymoon in 2021. It’s the only time we got Covid and of course it was on a $10,000 trip. Hope you two feel better soon!"

And a fourth quipped: "You’re definitely testing out the 'in sickness' part of the marriage vows early! Hope you both feel better soon."

After several others slammed the couple for being "martyrs" and taking the test in the first place as there is no longer a need to isolate, a fifth wrote: "So I’m not at all trying to be funny or political or any of that but it’s seriously been a long time since I’ve known of anyone with Covid symptoms. You have some bad luck my man. Hope you guys get well."

The groom responded: "Appreciate the kind words. Seems like I dared to mention Covid and all the right wingers and assorted antivaxxers came out like fruit flies. I just wanted to know why my wife wasn’t feeling well and I can pick up a Covid test down the street from our hotel. Nothing more to it."
