HOW TO DO IT
The Redditor advised on how to do interior design and decorating right.
"The best way to do color in interior spaces is aim for a 70, 20, 10 palette," they said.
"70 is your dominant color, typically a neutral, in your case I'd say it's white, warm whites, and creamy neutrals.
"20 is your primary color, in your case it'll likely be green thanks to the couch.
"Then 10 is your accent color, so from the two palettes you have, I'd choose one to pop off the green.
"So in your case, likely that orange or blue."
They said that while they understand that simply hanging some portraits can help, there are better ways to design a space.
"That is not to say though that you can't bring in those colors through your art," they added.
"Art can and should be complementary to your color palette and add more colors to the room.

WHERE IS IT FROM?
The Redditor was met with other users who asked how they came across the concept.
"I am also moving soon to a new apartment and was challenged thinking about planning out a color scheme," one wrote.
"I love this numerical rule, where did you learn about it? Are there resources you recommend for learning more?"
"I just learned in my art/graphic design classes in school," Solariati replied.
"I always struggled with color theory and combinations so this is a rule that has stuck with me.
"I don't have any particularly good resources to give you, but if you search '70-20-10 interior design' you are sure to find quite a lot on it."
