Mel B, Geri Horner and Emma Bunton are said to have been left highly embarrassed after a conversation emerged in court documents, according to reports.
The Spice Girls members saw a private conversation between them leaked in a defamation case. Mel B allegedly told her bandmates Geri and Emma that "charity doesn't pay the bills" in an alleged conversation about a reunion gig. The leaked messages, which are part of a defamation case in the United States, are said to have infuriated the singers.
They all reunited last month to mark Victoria Beckham's 50th birthday and appeared to show they are close friends. The trio are also alleged to have spoken about now close-pal Victoria in the leaked messages. There is allegedly a string of emails talking about how Victoria behaved at the Viva Forever! West End musical premiere in 2012.
The fashion designer arrived 15 minutes late after getting caught in traffic, causing a delay to the start of the show. Victoria sat away from the rest of the group when she arrived as she stayed two rows behind with husband David and their children. "This is highly embarrassing for the girls as it doesn't exactly chime with their core messages," a source told The Sun.
"But obviously it was a fair few years ago now and they've all kissed and made up since then. Just look at how happy they were together celebrating Victoria's 50th birthday back in April, belting out their greatest hits together after a few drinks." They insisted the "hatchet is well and truly buried."
Inside Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz's lavish New Year as he snubs familyThe reports come just weeks after all the Spice Girls reunited and performed together for the first time in years. Lined up side by side, Geri, Emma, Mel C, Victoria and Mel B looked as glam as ever as they let their hair down and performed 1997 hit Stop to their adoring crowd of partygoers. Placing himself in the centre of the action was David, who appeared delighted as he took the video while the women performed the iconic moves of the song.
Sharing the video with eight heart emojis, he wrote: "I mean come on x @victoriabeckham @melaniecmusic @officialmelb @emmaleebunton @gerihalliwellhorner." The group first formed in 1994, and enjoyed huge international success and stardom before Geri Horner (then Halliwell) left fans devastated in 1998 when she announced that she was quitting the group during the Spiceworld Tour.
While the other four members continued on as a group, they all also released solo music and announced an indefinite hiatus in 2000. In 2007, the group reunited for a worldwide tour that ended in 2008. The Spice Girls went on hiatus until the 2012 Olympics, where they sang an incredible medley of Spice Up Your Life and Wannabe. Seven years later in 2019, Mel B, Mel C, Emma and Geri reunited without Victoria for the sellout Spice World – 2019 Tour.
The Mirror has contacted representatives for Victoria, Mel B, Geri and Emma as well as the Spice Girls.
