Celebrity plastic surgeon Dr Jason Champagne has warned stars against being too open about the work they've had done as he fears it could influence young fans.
There seems to be a trend among celebrities of them opening up about surgery, with stars such as Khloe Kardashian and Cameron Diaz revealing they've had work done. While this can help break down taboos, Dr Champagne worries it could encourage young fans to go out and copy their favourite stars.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, he explained: "I think it’s a double-edged sword to be honest. I would say the younger generations, especially teenagers and people in their early 20s, the way they view things can be easily swayed by social media.

"And so I think we have to be really careful with how aggressive we are with talking about certain trends. Because I have seen some filler trends or some surgical trends that in my expert opinion are way too overdone."

He warned certain trends could be "harmful" to young people and even "detrimental to their appearance for the rest of their life". However, the plastic surgeon believes it's okay to promote "natural enhancement".
He explained: "I focus on a natural enhancement where we're making little changes that improve your look, but don't make you look like you've had plastic surgery or like you've had a lot of work done.
"I think that is the way to approach facial plastic surgery in general. More about maintaining your look and keeping your skin looking healthier and more youthful as you age versus doing all these procedures that are overdone."
Dr Champagne added that his goal is to make patients "look and feel great about themselves". He added: "I always approach you in a more natural way, like how can we enhance you in a natural way so that you still look like yourself but just more youthful."
