Police held the Borussia Dortmund team coach outside of Wembley ahead of Saturday night's Champions League final - as Real Madrid had to arrive first.

The Bundesliga giants, led by head coach Edin Terzic, booked their spot in the final for Europe's grandest prize after seeing off the riches of Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals.

Dortmund now face the tall task of beating the most decorated side in Europe if they are to leave London with the Champions League trophy - and they were left waiting outside Wembley by police in order to allow Real Madrid's coaches to pass them.

Two coaches were held briefly by police in order to allow the vehicles carrying Real Madrid's players and staff into the stadium ahead of the big match.

Both Dortmund and Los Blancos have been in town this week ahead of their season finale and both teams have also held a training session to familiarise themselves with the Wembley pitch.

Dortmund head into Saturday night's match as significant underdogs against Real Madrid, who are bidding to land a record-extending 15th European Cup. But Terzic warned that "anything can happen" in a cup final as he backed his team to cause an upset in London.

"We know that they are the most successful team in this competition. They have only lost twice this season. But we're also ready to play at the highest level," the Dortmund boss said during his pre-match press conference.

"Playing against Real 10 times is difficult, 34 times is impossible. Anything can happen in a final. The most important thing is the match. We've played so many games this season, 60. 60 games to prepare for tomorrow.

"They are the favorites, but we don't care, we were underdogs against Atletico and PSG. If we're brave and play a proper game, we'll have a chance."
