CHARLOTTE Tilbury’s Hollywood Flawless Filter sparked a new make-up category – glow-boosting fluids that can be used as both a primer and highlighter.
This week, I test three new launches.
BUDGET
L’Oréal Paris Lumi Glotion, £11.99 for 40ml: This had the lightest consistency of the three, so it’s not at all greasy or oily, which is always my worry with any glow-boosting product.
Still, it contains glycerin and shea butter, and promises to keep skin hydrated for up to 24 hours, making it great for all skin types.
The most subtle of the three, the glow is also the only one I could apply without mixing it with another product or applying one on top.

So it is great for no make-up days during the summer.
No wonder Kendall Jenner and Eva Longoria are fans of it.

MID-RANGE
Benefit Cosmetics Dew-la-la, £34 for 25ml: Benefit’s iconic High Beam was the first highlighter I ever used, more than a decade ago, so I couldn’t help comparing this to my teen staple.
To my delight, the new formula contains added heavyweight skincare ingredients niacinamide and hyaluronic acid to nourish skin.
Plus, there is a lot more product contained in the Dew-la-la tube – 25ml compared with High Beam’s 6ml.
The formula is very pigmented so a little goes a long way.
In fact, if not mixed with moisturiser or foundation to help disperse the colour, you risk looking slightly vampire-esque.
LUXURY
Dior Forever Glow Star Filter, £45 for 30ml: I love the creamy texture of this – it makes application much easier and means you get a bit longer to blend it into skin for full coverage before it dries.
There are nine shades in total, which is the largest offering of the three.

Immediately, my skin looked healthier, but by the end of the day it left me looking like an oil slick.
So I think it’s more suited to using as a highlighter only, or for those with dry or normal skin so the shine doesn’t go overboard.
