England’s preparations for Euro 2024 are taking shape with the squad heading to the north east for a friendly against Bosnia Herzegovina at St James’s Park on Monday night.

Gareth Southgate is expected to name an experimental team that will see fringe members of the 33-man training squad given a chance to impress.

He must trim that group down to 26 for the tournament and has until Friday, when England face Iceland at Wembley, to submit his final list to UEFA.

The chosen 26 will then relocate to their base near Erfurt in central Germany to prepare for the tournament.

Here are the key dates for a journey that the Three Lions hope will last until mid-July.
