Ex-England star Jermaine Jenas revealed his dread of Harry Kane retiring from international duty ahead of Euro 2024.
The tournament commences in just over two weeks with the Three Lions kicking off their competition on June 16 against Slovenia with Gareth Southgate's side among the favourites to win it all.
This very well could be the England captain's last European Championships as a potential retirement from international duty from the 30-year-old would spell havoc, according to the Match of the Day pundit who represented England in the 2006 World Cup.
Speaking exclusively to Mirror Sport, the former Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder discussed England's progression in major tournaments before confirming his fear of Kane eventually calling it a day for his country.
"I mean I don't think it's win or bust for the group," the 41-year-old said. "If you think about it from the Russia World Cup the last year Euros, it's evolved and getting stronger. I don't feel like until probably like Harry Kane decides to call it a day. I think that that'll be the first big 'oomph'. I mean, I think Raheem's, loss, in my opinion, is quite a big one as well."

The TV presenter is certainly bullish about the level of talent that exists within the team as he believes the current crop of players will "achieve something special".
"But at the same time, the team is still look solid, we've had some good youth coming through, players like Cole Palmer, Foden's a year better, Bellingham's gone on to do mad things, so we just seem to be filling those gaps anyways.

But I think that question is probably better aimed at the manager than it is the players," he remarked.
"The players will go on and I think they're going to achieve something special at some point. I think the manager will have the decisions make on the end of this tournament as to what he does if they don't win it yet."
