Shoppers who have managed to nab the bargains, took to the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains to share details.

A photograph showed bottles of Persil non bio on sale at just £5.18 at the Tesco in Seven Sisters.

One user posted : "Such a great buy" and another said: "OMG got to get some."

The triple XXL size bottles can do 72 washes (1.944ml) and usually are priced at £11.50.

Currently the same bottle is full price online, unless you have a Tesco Clubcard, in which case you can pick it up for £5.75.

You can also pick it up for £8 from Ocado, the online supermarket. but remember there may be fees on top for delivery.

But none are quite as cheap as the reduced to clear price - though it's not clear why they are being flogged for cheap.

It may be old stock that the supermarket is trying to clear. In any case, it's worth checking ahead to see if it's on your local store to avoid a wasted trip'.

You can find your nearest store and contact details on the Tesco website by using the store locator tool.

Other images showed bottles of XL Bold Gel 35 washes and Comfort Ultimate Care fabric conditioner for 68 washes.

Nicola O'Dwyer commented on Elaine’s post saying she too had grabbed the same bargains.

“Got some in Asda York but as fast as it was being priced up it was gone,” she wrote.

Sarah Palmer asked Elaine: “Why is it all going so cheap everywhere?”

Elaine replied: “Changing packages apparently so grabbed it while it was cheap because no doubt they change packaging and push the price right up.”

Shelly Stoodley also spotted her own laundry bargain in another Asda store.

She posted a photo of her basket which was full of Surf Tropical Lily washing liquid.

She added: “90p in Asda, grabbed four.. that's the washing sorted for a few months.”

Shelley added: “I'm just a two house household so will last a while.”

Several Asda shoppers shared their frustration at the bargains not being available nationwide.

The Sun recently revealed that big bottles of Fairy Original and Fairy Platinum have shrunk in size but shoppers are still being charged the same amount.

Procter & Gamble the manufacturer of Fairy, no longer ships 870ml bottles of Fairy Platinum and selected supermarkets have discreetly replaced these bottles with new 820ml versions.

The move means that shoppers are getting fewer suds for their money as the new bottles cost the same as the older larger bottles.

Shoppers used to be able to bag 870ml Fairy Platinum bottles from big-name retailers including Tesco and Ocado which charged £3 for the product - working out at 34.5p per 100ml.

B&M fans could also pick up the same bottle for a penny less at £2.99 and Home Bargains shoppers could also bag the 870ml bottles.

It comes after a Home Bargains shopper spotted the change and posted on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook page and said: "Bottles look the same, but the new one is 50ml smaller and costs £1 more than the old one at Home Bargains."

Angry shoppers were quick to respond to the change and one said: "Shrinkflation shouldn't be a thing... It's a disgrace."
