Tucked away from the bustling tourist crowds, this hidden gem boasts one of the UK's largest beaches, stretching three miles along the stunning coastline. With its golden sands framed by the majestic 14th-century Dunstanburgh Castle, it's a paradise for beach lovers and history buffs.

Built by Earl Thomas of Lancaster in the early 14th century, the castle's ruins now welcome curious visitors to explore its ancient corridors and battlements. Managed by the National Trust, the castle grounds are also home to a variety of local wildlife, adding to the enchanting atmosphere of the place.

While the village of Embleton may be small, its charm is undeniable. With just a handful of amenities including a quaint village shop, a cosy pub, a traditional fish and chip shop, and the historic Church of the Holy Trinity, visitors can experience the simple pleasures of rural life.

They said: “Embleton beach is fantastic. You can drive to the golf club and pay parking fee and it's just a very short walk from there to the fabulous beach. You can get food and drink in the golf clubhouse too. A lovely little farm shop. Pub with takeaway fish n chips or eat in very nice pub.”
