People claiming Universal Credit and other benefits can expect to get several boosts to aid them in the coming month.

According to the latest statistics, 6.7million people currently claim Universal Credit in the UK. A whole host of changes are coming in the coming weeks next month which will affect a range of Brits from pet owners, to claimants and people buying houses. The Bank of England is also announcing its next interest rate decision which could have an impact on your mortgage payments

Below we take a look at the 12 freebies and discounts people on Universal Credit may be eligible for in June as families continue to struggle with the cost of living.

Broadband

People on Universal Credit can save cash on their mobile phones and broadband thanks to social tariffs which are provided for those on low incomes and can start from £10 a month.

Council tax

Through council tax credit, people can have it reduced or wiped completely.

Energy

Many energy firms offer hardship funds worth £750, as well as gizmos to bring down bills.
