Dr. Simon Ourian has become one of Hollywood’s favorite skin gurus since he opened his practice in 1998.

He has worked with stars such as Olivia Culpo, Megan Fox, and Iggy Azalea.

Speaking to The U.S. Sun, he shared tips for defying the signs of aging without undergoing invasive treatments.

AGELESS

Dr. Ourian revealed there isn’t a set age at which everyone should start using beauty products specifically formulated to maintain a youthful appearance.

“Your genetic predisposition to aging can influence when you should start using anti-aging products,” he said.

“If your family members tend to develop signs of aging early, you may want to be proactive.”

He said regularly applying antioxidants and sunscreen from an early age can prevent future damage.

“Daily use of broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher is crucial for protecting the skin from UV damage, which is a primary cause of premature aging,” he said.

“It's never too early to start taking care of your skin, but consistency and patience are key for seeing results over time.”

GLOW UP

Dr. Ourian recommended speaking with a dermatologist for personalized skincare advice.

However, his “general rule of thumb” is to start by applying lighter consistencies and working up to “heavier or thicker” products.

“This helps ensure that each product can penetrate the skin effectively and that the active ingredients are absorbed properly,” he said.

He shared a step-by-step guide for an effective skincare regimen.

“Start by cleansing your face with a gentle cleanser to remove dirt, oil, and impurities,” he said.

“This prepares your skin for the subsequent products and allows them to penetrate better.

Choose a moisturizer appropriate for your skin type—lightweight for oily skin, richer for dry skin, or gel-based for combination skin.

“Apply toner after cleansing to balance the skin's pH levels and remove any remaining traces of dirt or makeup.

“Not everyone needs a toner, so this step is optional.”

Next, Dr. Ourian recommends applying any targeted treatments such as serums or boosters.

“These products usually contain active ingredients like antioxidants or hyaluronic acid to address specific skin concerns,” he said.

“Follow up with a moisturizer to hydrate and lock in moisture.

“Choose a moisturizer appropriate for your skin type — lightweight for oily skin, richer for dry skin, or gel-based for combination skin.

“Finish off your morning routine with sunscreen, applying it as the final step before makeup — if you wear any.

“Sunscreen is crucial for protecting your skin from harmful UV rays and preventing premature aging and skin damage.”

Dr. Ourian previously revealed to The U.S. Sun which lifestyle choices to consider alongside an anti-aging skincare routine.

He said skin health requires "high-quality" sleep and a balanced diet.

He also advised against smoking and said stress should be kept to a minimum.
