Conor McGregor fans are convinced the Irishman will pull out of his fight with Michael Chandler after tonight’s UFC press conference was cancelled.

McGregor and Chandler were due to come face to face in Dublin but the event was cancelled this morning.

The rivals are due to headline UFC 303 in Las Vegas on June 29 but McGregor sparked concern last week when it appeared he was partying just weeks before the bout.

A statement from the UFC regarding the press conference read: “The UFC 303 press conference scheduled for Monday June 3rd in Dublin, Ireland at 3Arena has been postponed until further notice. We sincerely apologise to all the fans who were planning to attend. “When we have further information on a new date and time, we will share it immediately.”

The announcement comes after UFC CEO Dana White admitted he didn’t know what to make of the videos appearing to show McGregor partying into the early hours.

“Jon Jones was doing a lot of that stuff too back in the day and many other fighters throughout history,” he said on Saturday. “I don’t know what’s real on the internet and what’s not real on the internet.

"I don’t know timing-wise; in one of them he’s got a beard, in one of them he doesn’t have a beard. I have no idea, I don’t know if any of that is real or true or whatever.

“But Conor is not a dumb guy and this is obviously a big fight for him. He’s calling it the best comeback in the history of sports and all of that stuff. So we’ll see what happens.”

And fans took to social media convinced McGregor won’t show up to fight.

One said: "Knew this was all too good to be true man." Another added: "Fights cooked." A third said: "Great, another thing to add to my already overflowing plate of disappointment."
