A Britain's Got Talent finalist was blue-lighted to hospital after the final.
Moments after the ITV talent show wrapped, a member of Ssaulabi was rushed to a nearby hospital via an ambulance after a mystery injury. It's believed that the star was hurt during a flying mishap in the live final which saw singer Sydnie Christmas crowned the 2024 winner.
During their performance, two members of the Korean martial arts group collided in mid-air, rather than kicking a wooden block. One of the contestants was then seen limping out of the Hammersmith Apollo as judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Toniolo looked on in horror as the emergency vehicle drove off. While the extent of the injury remains unknown, the NHS ambulance was seen arriving at the studios with its lights flashing and sirens blaring, signalling an emergency.
Other members of Ssaulabi were seen leaving shortly after their pal was rushed to a local hospital. As the performer tried to stand up following their routine, he was unable to, leaving Alesha looking extremely shocked. Eventually, he managed to crawl off the stage to seek assistance. As the performance came to an end, singer and presenter Dixon sent her best wishes to the performer.
Although Ssaulabi have not broken their silence on the incident, they have taken to their Instagram Stories to re-share a clip from the official Britain's Got Talent page, showing their final routine.
Our Yorkshire Farm's Amanda Owen has doubled her earnings after split from Clive"Did one of the performers just break their foot looked serious #bgtfinal," said one fan on X, formerly known as Twitter. However, this isn't the only medical emergency suffered during Sunday night's final. One contestant was seen limping out on crutches before getting into a taxi after suffering an injury to his leg. Despite the medical emergencies, Britain's Got Talent crowned wannabe West End actress Sydnie Christmas the winner, leaving her speechless.
Despite her victory of a whopping £250,000 cash prize and a bill on the Royal Variety Performance, some have branded the programme a fix. Speaking after her win, she said: "I cannot believe the amount of love I've felt since it aired. It's absolutely - oh my god. I am overwhelmed with love and I wish for one day that everyone feels the way I do. It's amazing, thank you so much."
Some fans believe that Sydnie performing last would mean that she would win. One wrote: "Biggest fix there is. #BGT #BritainsGotTalent," whilst a second added: "If Sydney wins it's such a fix. So much favoritism all series #BGT #BritainsGotTalent." A third added: "I'm sorry, but I can just see this being a fix. Sydnie was probably going win from day one. #BGT #BritainsGotTalent."
A spokesperson for Britain's Got Talent told the Mirror : "During last night's live final, a member of Ssaulabi Performance Troupe was injured. He was quickly seen by our onsite medical team before going to hospital for further treatment. All at BGT wish him a speedy recovery."
