Thomas Tuchel wants a return to the Premier League.

That will put the clubs on red alert with Manchester United potentially looking for a new boss this summer. Bayern Munich reiterated their stance this week that Tuchel will leave this summer - even if the German giants end up winning the Champions League.

Bayern are still looking for a replacement after Ralf Rangnick became the latest candidate to turn down the chance to take charge at the Allianz Arena. Ex-United interim boss Rangnick, currently in charge of the Austria national team, held talks with Bayern but has decided to stay put.

Current Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann was also another contender but he rejected Bayern while Xabi Alonso has insisted he will stay at Bayer Leverkusen.‌ Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi is a favourite among the bookies for the Bayern job.

But there appears no way back for Tuchel who is still popular among the Bayern players while the fans have also launched a petition to try and persuade him to stay.

Tuchel was successful at Chelsea as he led them to the Champions League and navigated them through the difficult transition of Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich being forced to sell the club because of the Ukraine war. There would be no shortage of admirers for Tuchel who enjoyed his time in England and it remains to be seen which club could tempt him back.

United’s current boss Erik ten Hag is under pressure after failing to make the Champions League but insists he is going nowhere. Ajax are interested in appointing ten Hag if he does become available. Tuchel could be a popular appointment with the fans and the ex-Borrusia Dortmund and Paris Saint Germain boss could also be an ambitious pick for West Ham.

Tuchel has insisted he is only focused on Bayern now and is desperate to win the Champions League as a final farewell. Speaking after being made aware of the supporters' petition, the 50-year-old was unconcerned.

"Even though this topic is good for me when [the fans] wish you to stay, it's not something that is a priority," he said, "It isn't allowed to be a priority.

"In the next 11 days it's only about football, nothing else. Whether it's pleasant or unpleasant, I don't allow myself to be influenced by it."
