Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have a long-running feud with the Royal Family and it seems they need to look toward Sarah Ferguson if they have any hopes of a reunion.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex left the Royal Family in 2020 and have since hit out at royal life. Their bombshell accusations have caused a strain on their relationship with The Firm.

Sarah had also faced being ostracised from the Royal Family after photos were released of financial adviser John Bryan sucking her toes back in 1992. However, she's slowly been invited back into the royal fold and royal expert Hilary Fordwich believes it's because she's "valued" by The Firm.

Hilary believes the decision to invite Fergie back and her "rehabilitation" into the Royal Family lies with King Charles. Speaking to Fox News, she said: "Extended family is important to him and his inviting her signifies a restoration of her place in the Royal Family."

The expert suggested Fergie has demonstrated "certain qualities" the Royal Family values, which is why she's been welcomed back. Hilary also said it was "heart-warming" to see the royals rally around the Duchess of York when she was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent surgery.

Hilary pointed out how it's a "stark contrast" to the treatment of Harry and Meghan. She suggested the difference could be because Fergie "never burned bridges" with the Royal Family and has instead been "steadfast in her support of them all."

Hilary added: "Fergie’s qualities are those valued by the family. She never complained after her ouster." Instead, Fergie showed her "support and resilience".

The Duchess of York was welcomed back into the Royal Family over Christmas. For the first time in more than 30 years, she was allowed to walk with the rest of the family from the royal estate in Sandringham to the nearby church for a morning service.

More recently, Fergie seemed to speak out about Meghan and Harry's royal feud. During an appearance at the Cannes Film Festival, she said "forgiveness" is the most important part of maintaining good family relationships.

Speaking to People magazine, she added: "I think family unity is key… I think the key to life is that we all support each other. And also forgiveness is a great thing. I think forgiveness of yourself, and forgiveness of others."
