Singer Olly Murs was due to perform at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow but it was cancelled at the last minute.
The 39-year-old singer was meant to perform on Friday evening. He was scheduled to support Take That over three nights at the venue for their tour. However, he wasn't able to take to the stage on the first night due to transport issues, with the singer's sharing that his flight from London to Glasgow had been cancelled.
He told fans on X: "So sorry to everyone at the @takethat show tonight in Glasgow, unfortunately I won’t be there, I have been at London Heathrow from 11am this morning for my flight but after several delays (check my Instagram) and then a cabin crew incident our @British_Airways flight got cancelled!"
Olly further commented: "I don't think I've ever missed a gig before, am so annoyed! But am now in a car heading up for our 6hr journey for the Saturday and Sundays show right now."
Fans rushed to the comment section to share their support for the star. One user wrote: "It's not your fault at all Olly, we all know you hate letting your fans down. Have safe travels up to Glasgow!" Another fan said: "What a stressful day for you all. It's not your fault Murs, you always give your fans 100%. I'm sure you'll give them extra special shows sat and Sunday." A third said: "Olly it’s not your fault. These things happen. Will see you tomorrow night in Glasgow."
Olly Murs blasted for 'disturbing' swimsuit he buys for fiancée Amelia TankEarlier on Friday, Olly had shared footage of himself at an airport on his Instagram Story. Whilst one of the band's song played in the background he teased in the clip: "Just at the airport - come on. Love it! Take That. We're coming to Glasgow tonight. Who's ready? Cause I am."
He however later told his followers on the platform that his flight had been delayed by two hours. "I have no idea if I'm gonna make it tonight but I'll keep you guys posted if anything changes. Not looking good at the minute but fingers crossed," he said in a video.
Olly went on to share that a subsequent issue at the airport had led to further delays. And he later announced that he wouldn't make it, he said: "Flight has just been cancelled. So I'm so so sorry guys. Looks like I'm not gonna be able to ... well, I'm not gonna be at the gig tonight in Glasgow. I'm extremely gutted. I don't think I've ever missed a gig that I can recall, especially of this magnitude. So listen, have the best night with Take That, of course - it's their show anyway. So just big love to anyone that was coming to see both of us. I'm sorry I can't be there."
Olly more recently shared footage of himself in a car and told fans that he was on his way to Glasgow ahead of his performances this weekend. He again apologised for his absence from the show, saying: "So sorry I can't be there tonight. Gutted, but you're in for a treat. What a show [it] is. Gutted I can't be there guys, I'm so sorry. Nothing I can say or do really. Out of my hands. Weren't my fault. So yeah apologises."
The OVO Hydro itself confirmed that Olly wouldn't be performing in a post shared on X a few hours ago. It read: "Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond anyone's control [Olly] cannot perform tonight (Friday) in Glasgow. We're very sorry for inconvenience."
