But Earnie, who used to celebrate goals with a front-flip during his playing career, says his lad has raised the bar.
Earnshaw said: "He's got the same eye for goal.
Man Utd back-up goalkeeper Martin Dubravka recalled by Newcastle"He's got a good celebration going on - he's gone one better than me and he has the back somersault! He's changed it up on me.
"He's his own player, he plays slightly differently to me.
"He's been doing well at Ipswich. He's got lots to learn."
Earnshaw Snr, 43, played for a number of top clubs including Cardiff, West Brom, Norwich and Nottingham Forest during his career.
He also won 59 caps for Wales and scored 16 international goals.

Earnshaw also famously holds the record as the only player to have scored hat-tricks in the Premier League, Divisions 1, 2 and 3, the FA Cup, the League Cup, and in an international match.
Earnshaw added: "Every now and again, he comes out and says, 'I saw this and that of your career.'
“He's had a bit of a look so that's always nice.”
