Prince Harry and Megan Markle will be celebrating today (June 4) as their little princess turns three.
Princess Lilibet was born in California, US, in June 2021 and named after her late great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II. Her parents also wanted to honour Harry's late mother by using Diana for her middle name.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex held a party for their daughter at their grand home in Montecito, Santa Barbara, last weekend to celebrate. Although it is believed the guest list was small, their friends and family who live in the US joined the celebration. No members of the Royal Family attended the event.
Fans will no doubt be hoping for a peak inside the special event as they wait for Meghan and Harry to share pictures. But when an insight into their home life and Lilibet's first birthday was shared in their Netflix docuseries, fans couldn't help notice how much she looks like one Royal Family member.
Her family held an intimate gathering at Frogmore Cottage to celebrate, and photographer Misan Harriman was one of few people on the guest list. Pictures were shared of the special occasion where Lilibet wore a sweet bow in her hair and a special birthday dress.
Meghan Markle 'to unleash her own memoirs' as Prince Harry's drops next weekThousands have been taking to social media this morning to wish the princess a happy birthday. On X, one royal fan said they noticed from her pictures how much she looks like her late grandmother. They said: "Happy Birthday Princess Lilli. You look so much like your grandmother, Princess Diana."
Others on X agreed, as one added: "I am convinced Lilibet will grow up to look just like Diana." Another commented: "Lilibet looks 100% like her grandma (Princess Diana)."
"Archie looks like Meghan and Lilibet looks like Diana’s family," another added. One other said: "The only granddaughter that resembles the late Princess Diana is Princess Lilibet of Sussex. Princess Lilibet inherited her grandmother blue eyes, face shape and smile."
Megan provided a sweet insight into Lilibet's personality during a visit to the Lightway Academy in Abuja, ahead of the little one's birthday. Taking part in a conversation about mental health, the Duchess of Sussex said: "Our daughter, Lili, she's much, much tinier than you guys. She's about to turn three.
"And a few weeks ago she looked at me and she would just see the reflection in my eyes. And she said 'Mama, I see me in you'. Oh, now she was talking really, literally. But I hung onto those words in a very different way. And I thought, yes, I do see me and you, and you see me and you, but as I look around this room, I see myself in all of you as well."
