Let’s be honest, we’ve all either accidentally mistaken someone for being pregnant or as a woman had it done to themselves. Whether being offered a seat on public transport, thinking it in your head, or mortifyingly saying it out loud, it’s an impossible situation to navigate.

However, one woman has revealed how she was able to get revenge on a rude and entitled woman who actually touched her stomach without permission. Sharing the hilarious tale on social media, she wrote: “I'm on the chunkier side. Not unhealthy. BMI within 'normal' parameters. But I got curves.

“I went to a store wearing one of those tops that cinches in below the chest, above the waistline. I guess it accentuated them curves a lot – I’m never wearing it again, that's for sure.

  • “An older random lady comes up to me, puts her hand on my belly and asks when I am due. She's got that big smile on her face like we're besties already. She's positively beaming. I put my hand over hers, smile back and say - I'm not pregnant. I'm just fat.

“Her face falls. She tries to pull her hand back. But I hold it there, counting away the seconds, positively beaming. When I finally release her, she scampers away without a single word.” People reading the Reddit post were in stitches and applauded the curvy woman for her sense of humour. One person replied: “Old people touching your belly, pregnant or not, is simply gross. Nice response.”

Another user joked: “Is it okay if you're a 300lb plumber with a hairy belly full of Polish sausage and beer? When they ask when are you due, and you smile and tell them about 30 minutes after my morning coffee. It's just beautiful.”

And someone else shared: “Last week, a coworker was wearing a similar top. She says to me ‘Do I look pregnant? Because so and so asked me when I'm due?’ I said no. Also You never ask that question especially at work. FYI we both work in HR, person who asked her is in an middle management role and old enough to know better. Good lord. Some people never learn.”
