Choosing a name for your baby is one of the most important decisions that new parents will make - some spend years thinking about it.

Baby names often cause debates with loved ones; some people will love what you have chosen and others will hate it. Some new parents want a unique, modern name while others opt for something more traditional. Often films, TV shows, celebrities, Royal Family names, and trends can have an impact on the most popular baby names.

One woman, Abbi-Mae, has revealed that she wants a name that stands out in the playground and has revealed her unique list - but some people think her names sound they are "for dogs".

The 23-year-old woman admitted that she is not pregnant, and is "probably never going to have children" but enjoys coming up with names in case of the possibility. Taking to her TikTok page @abbiemae_ the young woman said: "People tell me that they are quite strange so if you like unusual names I feel like you should save this video."

She started off by saving she likes the name Navy which she said "has become really popular recently". She said: "People used to make fun of me for that, now I know like three Navys." Abbi-Mae, from London, says that she loves the name Vesper - but people often say they don't like it because of the famous motorbike.

She added: "Everyone is always [saying] "Like the motorbike?" I'm like yeah, like the motorbike! I think Vesper is really cool, [for] a girl or boy." The model says she likes names Storm and Lucky for a boy, as well as the name Blue. She said: "Everyone says it sounds a bit like a dog - I have known a dog called Blue - I feel like colour names can be really cool."

The TikTok user confessed she also loves geographical names such as Rhodes - like the Greek island - as well as Aspen, which is best known for being a skiing hotspot in Colorado.

Speaking about girl names, Abbi-Mae says she has Sloane on her list - she says she got it from American-drama series Entourage. She added that she "gets hate from her friends" for liking the name Soleil - meaning sun in French. She added: "The first hate comment I get about that is that it sounds like a circus performer, which I think comes from Cirque du Soleil.

"The second reason people don't like it is because my boyfriend's friend pointed out the other day when I was saying it was that he thought I was saying 'slay'."

But Abbi-Mae's top girl name is Inez - featured in one of Taylor Swift's songs. "'I think it's so pretty and I actually think it'll come back around as it's an older name," the content creator added. She also admitted: "I used to LOVE button as a name too."

A number of people rushed to the comments to shared their thoughts on the name - some love them while others weren't too sure. One individual said: "Rhodes and Sloane are on my list too! Currently obsessed with Silva or Lockie for a boy and Estella or Rani for a girl… Adamant I don’t want kids though."

"Love Sloane!," added another. One other commented: "I could have wrote this list myself! I've never met anyone with a similar taste to me!" "I love Vesper for a girl, it's so cute."

Others pointed out that they have pets with the names that Abbi-Mae likes. "My dog is called Lucky," said one. "I wanted to call my son Lucky but my partner wouldn't let me," added another.

"My dog is called Blue," commented another. One other wrote: "Half of these aren't even names, they're just objects or things."
