Andy Murray has teased British tennis rival Liam Broady after he bumped his head on his car boot and suffered a concussion.
Broady, 30, picked up the freak injury over the weekend which has ruled him out Rothesay Open in Nottingham. Britain's fifth-ranked star had been due to compete at the grass-court tournament which serves as a warmup for Wimbledon, which this year begins on Monday, July 1.
Updating fans on social platform X, formerly known as Twitter, Broady posted: "Some bad news… Was on track for next week but I hit my head on my car boot on Sunday evening quite hard. Tried to practise yesterday and got a pretty bad migraine.
"Turns out I have a concussion! So won't be ready for Nottingham. Hopefully Ilkley [the tournament which takes place between June 15 and 22] if all goes to plan."
Less than 20 minutes after Broady broke the news, Murray posted a brutal reply. "Think this is the first time I've read one of your tweets and believed it," the legendary Scot, who's currently out injured and aiming for a return ahead of what's expected to be his final Wimbeldon farewell, joked.

Murray's response had tennis fans in stitches, with one saying: "No sympathy just caustic wit from Andy. Typical," before adding three laughing emojis. "Legend Andy," another laughed.
One fan then asked in the replies: "Andy, big fan always and forever but why do you despise this bloke so much? Always elite twitter discourse from you."
Back in January, Murray and Broady were involved in a heated exchange on X which led to Murray labelling the Stockport-born ace 'a clown'. The pair were arguing over Russian teenager Mirra Andreeva, who'd produced a stunning final-set fightback to beat Dianne Parry which booked her place in the fourth round of the Australian Open.

Murray was unhappy with what a commentator had said during the match. "Andreeva down 5-1 in third. Commentator: 'She really needs to work on mental side of her game... she's too hard on herself when she's losing'. 30 minutes later 7-6 Andreeva wins," the 37-year-old posted.
"Maybe the reason she turned the match round is because of her mental strength. Maybe she turned the match around because she is hard on herself and demands more of herself when she's losing/playing badly? Winner."
Broady then gave his verdict, saying: "Mental strength is the wrong phrase. To come from 5-1 down in the third in a slam at her age is great mental strength. But perhaps if she had greater mental composure she wouldn't have gone 5-1 down in the third in the first place?"
"I don't understand your tweet," Murray fired back. "You said mental strength is the wrong phrase and then in the next sentence say coming from 5-1 down is great mental strength. Liam Broady the walking contradiction," before adding a clown emoji.
A meeting at Wimbledon would be a tasty affair.
