Britain's Got Talent star Sydnie Christmas headed back to her day job just days after winning the ITV competition.
The singer was crowned the 2024 winner of the talent show on Sunday night thanks to her impressive vocals. She bagged a spot at the Royal Variety Performance as well as an incredible £250,000. Sydnie performed iconic ballad Somewhere Over the Rainbow on Sunday night's final.
The 28-year-old celebrated her achievement with pints at Wetherspoons with her family and admitted she doesn't want to quit her day job just yet. Before her win, Sydnie revealed she won’t quit her fitness centre job just yet – because she needs the cash. “I’ve already had two weeks off – and I’m on a zero-hours contract. I have rent to pay," she said.
On Tuesday, Sydnie returned to work as she filmed herself back behind the till at 1Rebel UK. She said: "Hello, welcome to 1Rebel, what class are you in for today?" The person behind the camera replied: "Reformer," as Sydnie added: "Reformer, so what's your last name?" The singer then cracked up as she quipped: "I am joking bye," and ran away from the till.
Her employer shared a message on their own social media account following Sydnie's win as they said: "Huge congratulations to the incredibly talented @sydniechristmas Britain’s Got Talent Winner 2024 So deserved, we can’t wait to see what you do next. And safe to say we now might be a front of house member down."

I want to be doing what I love for a living instead of rolling towels and making shakes!” Her triumphant win has since been marred by 'fix' claims as fans pointed out the singer's already accomplished past with movie roles, stage shows and a recording contract already on Sydnie's CV.
Others claimed it was 'obvious' Sydnie was plucked to win from the start. Appearing on Monday's This Morning to talk about her win, Sydnie revealed what she's going to spend her £250,000 cash prize on. She said: "It's not even about the money, this is just amazing." Ben Shephard, pointed out: "Well, you haven't seen it in your bank account yet!" as Sydnie added: "No, you sort of can't believe it."
Talking about what she'll spend her cash on, the winner said: "Not a clue!" before adding: "I loved my singing coach on BGT, she was amazing and got me through that. I said to her: 'I can now afford you once a week!' so I said that to her." Ben asked: "So the first thing is booking a load of lessons?" Sydnie replied: "Yeah, absolutely! She's made me in like two months a better singer than I did when I went to college for three years, she's just amazing and I just love her."
