A woman browsing tops on Vinted came to a horrifying realisation after spotting a photo of an item on the app.

The app is an online marketplace where fashion fans can buy and sell second-hand goods. While most people receive their items without any fuss, the forum has seen a few dramas in its time.

One shopper who was eyeing up a £30 top from All Saints didn't even get to make her purchase before spotting an upsetting detail in the listing's photo. A screenshot of the conversation between prospective buyer and seller made its way onto X (formerly Twitter), leaving many in stitches – but not the buyer.

Responding to the listing the buyer asked: "Hey, weird question, but do you know [name]?" The seller replied: "Yes I do babe why x."

The buyer continued: "Was this photo taken in his room lol." To which she received the response: "Yeh it was cuz I left my stuff at his. Why do you ask? Do you know him? x."

It was then the buyer became enraged. "YES I know him he's MY boyfriend. Why was you even at his house?" she asked, to which the seller wrote: "Omg I so sorry babe I didn't realise."

After the woman went quiet, the seller later followed up with an unlikely question. "Are you interested in the top? xx," she asked – before being met with outrage. "No I'm not f***ing interested in the top," was the response, unsurprisingly.

The tweet had been seen by more than three million X users at the time of writing, and while the situation was not ideal for the buyer, others were able to see the funny side. "Her dress from All Saints but I think I found a sinner," quipped one person. "Got to admire the hustle," added another.

A third agreed: "At least she's business minded." And a fourth sympathised: "Imagine finding out ye fella was cheating you on Vinted."

Vinted has been contacted for more information.
