Cheryl's fans have issued a major plea to the pop star.
The Geordie pop princess is currently on a sold-out tour with her Girls Aloud bandmates, celebrating the late Sarah Harding who tragically passed away in 2021. Prior to the girls getting back on stage, Cheryl, 40, had taken time away from the music industry and focused on looking after her son, Bear, seven.
Having once been one of the biggest pop stars in the country, Cheryl broke barriers and became the first female soloist to achieve five Number One singles after I Don't Care topped the charts. But her latest releases failed to hit the big time, with her 2014 track Only Human charting at 70.
Her follow-up 2018 single, Love Made Me Do It, charted at number 19, while her last single, Let You, released in 2019 charted at number 57. But in recent days, unreleased material by the Geordie star has surfaced on social media, sending her dedicated fans known as 'Cheryl's Army', into a frenzy.
A track titled Miss You by Cheryl has been leaked, with fans begging the former X Factor judge to return with solo music. One excited fan said: "Hoping that Cheryl will start to release the unreleased music herself. I'd much rather listen to it through her directly even if she just releases it on Spotify without physicals but I love miss you so much."

Meanwhile, a third tweeted: "Now I've heard this I need a thousand more songs @CherylOfficial come back with more music I beg." A fourth commented: "I have prayed for times like this." Another typed: "Sounds a lot like the songs she released 5 years ago. I'm still waiting for the new CD, after the tour maybe... a girl can dream."
In 2021, a source claimed Cheryl would return to the music industry "when the time is right". Speaking to the Mail, they said: "Cheryl has not made that decision at all. She is still signed to Universal and they are open to more Cheryl music when the time is right. There are always music conversations going on. She has not left the label and they still have a business deal together.
"Cheryl's music still does well for Universal. She still has over a million monthly listeners on Spotify despite not even releasing a new song in two and a half years." However, as of 2024, Cheryl is no longer listed as an artist on the Universal Music website. Instead, she signed a new deal with 3 Beat, who she is still signed with, alongside the likes of Basshunter, Cher Lloyd and Skepta.
