Manchester United remain in talks over Omari Forson’s contract in a last-ditch attempt to keep the youngster.
Forson, 19, is out of contract this summer and was expected to leave Old Trafford. Recent reports claimed that he had rejected the Red Devils’ most recent renewal offer.
Several clubs both at home and abroad are interested in him. Man United would be due a compensation fee should he move on due to his age.
However, it now appears that they are actually attempting to keep him after all. In their retained list at the conclusion of the 2023/24 season, the club confirmed that Forson has officially been offered a new deal.
It remains to be seen whether he commits his future to the Red Devils. Both parties have been attempting to find an agreement having been in talks for six months.
World Cup hero wants Man Utd move as doubts over Harry Maguire's future growMan United boss Erik ten Hag has already handed Forson several opportunities to impress. The young forward made his debut after he came off the bench in an FA Cup tie at Wigan back in January.
He made a further six appearances throughout the season. His highlight was arguably an assist for Kobbie Mainoo during the Red Devils’ dramatic 4-3 win against Wolves in February.
Forson then made his full debut for the club against Fulham. Speaking before that game, Ten Hag said: "He deserves the position. Lately, he's performing very well, over the last half year he's worked very hard, and showed his progression.

"And when he came on against Wolves and Newport he had some impact, for instance with the goal for Kobbie Mainoo, he had the link up and good run behind. That's what we expect from him. He showed reliability and now he gets his chance, so he has to take his chance."
While Forson could yet stay at Old Trafford, it has been confirmed that a few of his fellow academy graduates will leave this summer. Brandon Williams will be available this summer after spending last season with Ipswich in the Championship.
Charlie McNeill, Marcus Lawrence and Kie Plumley are all also due to leave. On the young players set to depart, the club confirmed: "The Academy is proud of all our departing young players throughout the age groups.
“They will be supported in securing contracts at new clubs, provided with a bespoke aftercare programme, and will always have a lifelong association with Manchester United."
