GRUESOME footage has been released of an autistic teen who was going back in forth with police officers before being taken to the hospital for severe injuries to himself.

Video of Isaiah Trammell, a 19-year-old who was arrested in 2023 shows police taunting the teenager as he begged to be let out of the jail cell.

On March 13, 2023, Trammell was arrested after his neighbor called the cops on him for having a mental health episode in his home, the Columbus Dispatch reported.

When police arrived they realized the teenager had an outstanding warrant for a misdemeanor domestic violence offense, and took the teen into custody around 1 a.m.

His mother, Brandy Abner, said that her son was prone to "rages" and that the jail cell exacerbated many of his triggers including being confined.

His mother said they normally called the cops when he began to have breakdowns, but it never resulted in a warrant, and nobody knew it was there to begin with.

“Like we always call when he begins to rage,” Abner said. “It's a mental health call, it's not an ‘arrest me’ call.”

While in jail, the video shows officers calling him names such as "ridiculous," and "embarrassing" and said he was "acting like an ass."

Trammell was seen banging his head on the floor, which can be a way for autistic people to self-soothe themselves in intense situations.

He repeatedly yelled to be let out of the prison, but instead was tied to a restraint chair on two separate occasions, and was threatened with more time if he didn't calm down.

“You remember how that restraint chair felt? Remember what the sergeant said? You're gonna go in for 10 hours next time you go in there. You want to do that?" one officer told Trammell after the first time he was restrained.

Trammell begged the officers to let him have his medications, a phone call, and a blanket.

The teenager was put on suicide watch, which means that he was supposed to be given a suicide-resistant gown, blanket, and mattress in the state of Ohio.

However, he only received the gown.

Trammell would later be seen screaming to be let out again but became fearful when police approached his cell.

“You should have thought, bro. Turn around! Turn around! I said so. Turn around. Lay on your stomach!” one deputy shouted back.

Trammell had hit his head four consecutive times before being placed back into the restraint chair.

“Please, please, please. I’m shaking,” he begged. “Please, I’m in pain.”

After 10 hours in the jail cell, Trammell was taken to the hospital.

He was pronounced dead three days later due to blunt-force trauma.

His death was ruled a suicide, something his mother is looking to change.

Police have released a statement to the Dayton Daily News earlier this week.

“Thank you for providing the requested information to the Bureau of Adult Detention regarding the Critical Incident (Death/ Trammel) that occurred in your custody,” the email says.

We have reviewed the information you provided in accordance with the Standards for Jails in Ohio. From this review and circumstances related to the incident, it does not appear to identify any deficiencies with the Standards for Jails in Ohio.”

The U.S. Sun has reached out to Montgomery County police for comment.
