Conor McGregor posted a picture of himself visiting a doctor in light of rumours about his UFC comeback fight being cancelled.
UFC legend McGregor is scheduled to make his return against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 on June 29 in Las Vegas. The fight is still scheduled to go ahead but fans were left in the dark after a press conference in Dublin to promote the bout was cancelled at just 12 hours' notice earlier this week.
The Irishman has only posted two pictures since the event was cancelled, one of his family and now one of him visiting a doctor's practice. McGregor smiled as he sat back in an examination chair and sent UFC fans into overdrive, with one writing: "Damn he knows how to sell a fight. He’s got everyone panicking on purpose."
A second user commented: "McGregor doesn’t pull outta fights! He’ll be there book it!" A third user added: He is acting like he will pull out of the fight but he's just promoting the fight" with a final comment reading: "Chandler is having sleepless nights worrying if he will ever get the McGregor money fight."
Chandler trains in South Florida but left his gym on Wednesday to fly back to his home in Tennessee. "If you’re looking for me, I’ll be out in Tennessee. No way out of the life we chose," he wrote on Instagram. Chandler has been waiting patiently for a fight against McGregor since the bout was officially announced last February.
UFC champion demands to know how Conor McGregor has become so "jacked""I'm going to put this guy's head on a pike, throw it over my shoulder and waltz on," McGregor told The Mac Life. "I'm ready to go. I'm calm, I'm composed, I'm cold in the soul for this man. I'm coming back with a vengeance and I'm coming back with skill. I'm excited to show my skills.
"I'm in a great place mentally, physically, spiritually. And five weeks, five days time, we're back on the horse, giddy up. It’s a blank face and a specific body type. He has his set movements, his set patterns he moves in and his set shots. I’m aware of them and I’m preparing for a multitude of outcomes. I’m as ready as I can be, and I’m confident all my shots will land.”
