As the titles may suggest, each game features eight intertwining stories focused on eight different characters.

Octopath Traveler 2 improved on the first game in many ways, bringing eight new stories and characters, new mechanics and quality-of-life updates, and is rated 85 on Metacritic.
Both games are rated 9/10 by players for their PC versions on Steam.
With gorgeous HD-2D pixel-art design and 3D diorama style, both games are must-plays for any classic JRPG fan.
The first game had been previously available on Game Pass, but was removed in March 2023, and is now making a comeback alongside the second game.
Both Xbox and PC gamers with Game Pass can already play the two titles and more free games will be added to the service this month.
