Britney Spears left her fans in hysterics as she drew an iconic Birmingham landmark and shared it on social media.
The 42-year-old pop icon is known for her erratic and unusual posts on Instagram, and has even resorted to completely deleting her account from time to time, but her latest upload has left her followers baffled. On Wednesday, Britney decided to share her artwork with her fans, and revealed she had been inspired by a picture of a church.
“Just a pen and church!” she wrote alongside the drawing. But eagle-eyed followers were quick to point out that not only was it St Martin's Church in Birmingham city centre, but she had also managed to sketch the rest of the city’s skyline, including Selfridges department store and the iconic Bullring shopping centre. While the comments have been turned off on her Instagram posts, many took to Twitter/X to share their amusement at the Toxic hitmaker’s choice to draw the Birmingham skyline.
“Britney Spears posting a sketch she did of the Bullring in Birmingham was not something I was ever expecting to see,” one tweeted. “Why has Britney Spears posted a hand-drawn picture of Birmingham on her Instagram may I ask!?” another added, while one joked: “Britney Spears drawing the bullring in Birmingham has sent me to the moon.” The official Instagram account of the Bullring shopping centre even shared Britney’s drawing alongside the photo she was inspired by, and quipped: “Sketch me baby one more time!”
Meanwhile, another keen fan offered to take Britney on a tour of the city to show her the sights. “Britney let me take you to the Tescos in Birmingham I got my egg and cress sandwich from,” they joked. Her bizarre post comes just days after she terrified fans by sharing a video from the 2002 horror movie The Ring. The film follows journalist Rachel, played by Naomi Watts, after she discovers an unnerving videotape that kills whoever has watched it in just seven days.
Britney Spears 'selling $12million home' she bought with husband only months agoBritney shared the entire spooky video on Instagram, and wrote: “Does anybody remember this movie where they hold this little girl captive too long and she finally comes out of the TV walking on her hands and knees and destroyed half the nation? Y’all stay cozy! You guys have nothing to worry about at all! Love y’all!”
However, her fans were left unimpressed, with one commenting: “Imagine if we all die in seven days because Britney Spears posted The Ring video on her Instagram,” as another agreed: “Britney Spears just lobbed The Ring video onto the timeline and I’m obsessed. Imagine she just casually cursed 42.2 million people with one post? Mother Mayhem.”
