Stacey Solomon left her husband Joe Swash in disbelief as she operated a tractor digger to begin her garden transformation at the couple's £1.2 million Pickle Cottage.

The 34 year old mum of five shared a video on social media showing her driving and operating the vehicle as Joe stood by the sidelines cheering her on. In one segment of the clip, Joe is heard yelling out to Stacey, who was sat in the digger, and praised her for being an "absolute pro." She captioned the post: "Project pond is starting today, Joe is literally my biggest cheerleader it cracks me up."

In the clip Stacey expertly moved huge piles of earth to create a pond. And Joe added: "Look at that bucket! No messing around. There's a tree in there, look. She's moving trees and like an absolute pro, look at this. That was a good bucket there Stace."

Stacey became a household name after she wowed judges on X Factor back in 2009 and finished in third place. Since then, she has gone on to host her own make-over TV shows, become a panelist on ITV's Loose Women and has launched a number of businesses as well a writing books.

The pond is just the latest part of the overall renovation. According to reports, Stacey single-handedly raised the funds for their dream home in Essex, which is set in 2.5 acres and has an outdoor swimming pool. Stacey has made no secret of the fact that she is willing to go to great lengths to maintain a perfect garden - even if it means stepping out in the dark to ward off slugs in her vegetable patch. In a video which the TV star re-posted, she can be seen running around the vegetable patch with a head torch on late at night.

In the video Joe quipped: "I’ve lost my evenings with my wife to a bunch of slugs. No one can say she doesn’t go above and beyond to make the kids dreams come true." As Stacey headed to the garden, Joe looked on from the comfort of the firepit and said: "what is she doing? " He joked referring to the vegetables: "Are your babies all tucked in and ready for the night ahead?" Stacey then hit back and said: "You think this is a joke right, but what do you call that?" She then held up a slug that had been on one of her plants.

Earlier this month, Stacey showed off a bruise she received following one of her DIY projects. The star injured herself after attempting to build a coop for her new ducklings. Taking to her Instagram page, she showed off her impressive build and told her 5million followers: "I thought 'If I don't put it up right this second I won't put it up until the weekend'" She added: "And any normal person would say 'It's fine to put it up at the weekend, they're not going to be in that coop for another six weeks' but my toxic trait is if there's something in front of me I have to do it immediately."

She added: "So I persisted to build a duck coop in literally dusk, dusk lighting and I got to the roof, got to the triangle bit on the roof and dropped it on my eye [laughs]. Ugh why am I like this? So that'll be fun at the shoot tomorrow. It will probably be worse tomorrow. It's always worse the day after the day after." She went on to add: "But it was worth it. I'll show the coop it looks really good. I've still got to do the base and dig out the pond but it is really cool and I'm very excited."

Introducing the new additions to her family earlier this month, she said: ""Welcome To Pickle Cottage Little Ones. We are so excited to love you & we hope you love living here & being a part of our crazy family. We have no idea what to call our new babies yet, so any suggestions welcome. Honestly wanted to make our garden home to ducklings for so long so thank you @luisazissman from giving us the opportunity to raise your hatchlings."

This comes after she recently admitted that she was considering turning her back on showbiz to become a stay at home mum. Speaking on Glad We Had This Chat podcast she revealed: "It comes after Stacey recently confessed that plans on becoming a stay-at-home mum, as she prioritises spending time with her children instead. Talking on the Glad We Had This Chat podcast, she said: “Every year I have a team meeting with my agent and everyone on the team to say ‘What's your plan, what's your goals, blah, blah, blah. And this year when they asked me my five-year goals, I was like ‘I want to be a stay-at-home mum’."
