A GRAN-OF-FOUR thought she'd won a food mixer - only to discover it was a £250,000 Postcode Lottery jackpot.

Lynn Scott, from Stranraer in Dumfries, couldn't believe her eyes when she bagged the windfall - after never winning more than a plant pot in her life.

The retired librarian, and husband Tom, are now eager to "live in style" and head off on a luxurious Baltic cruise.

At first the pair thought they'd won a food mixer - which cost around £50 on average - but were speechless when a massive £250,000 cheque was handed to them instead.

When they rang my bell, I thought this is not happening, this is what you see on television, this doesn't happen to me

They scooped the jackpot with three other neighbours after DG9 7BY won the weekly Millionaire Street prize, and every ticket was worth £250,000.

Lynn told the Postcode Lottery: "I won a mixer recently and I've been looking for it coming every day but it's still not arrived and then the Postcode Lottery turned up at my door.

"I saw all these people in red and thought, that's not the postman - there's too many of them - and as they came towards the house, my heart started going.

"And when they rang my bell, I thought this is not happening, this is what you see on television, this doesn't happen to me."

Husband Tom joked about how the couple had been entering a raffle at his club - but only took home plant pots.

"I keep telling the ladies at the golf club, I don't want any more pot plants because we've won three and Lynn kills them," he laughed.

Lynn added: "Oh, my goodness me! This doesn't happen to people like me.

"£250,000 is absolutely ridiculous. I still feel like I'm going to wake up and it's just going to be a big dream. The most we've ever won is pot plants in the raffle."

Lynn explained how the eye-watering sum will go towards her family and charities.

The grandmum-of-four said her kids will be "over the moon" to hear their fantastic news - and learn they could all be watching Taylor Swift at her Eras Tour.

Meanwhile Tom and Lynn will be sailing off on their "dream" holiday.

"I've always fancied going on a Baltic cruise. We have gone on a Mediterranean cruise, but I'd love to go on a Baltic cruise," Lynn said.

"I thought our cruise days were over and it wasn't possible for another one, but there you go."

But in the meantime, the pair are going to be popping open a bottle of bubbly and tucking into a box of Maltesers.

It comes as other winners celebrate Post Code Lottery scoops on streets up and down the country.

Another lucky couple who scooped £142,000 in the raffle revealed their plan - but it may surprise you.

Meanwhile, one dad told how he scooped a £142,000 lotto jackpot - and spent the money on his daughter.

Elsewhere, a pair who won £60,000 on the People's Postcode Lottery told how they were able to double their winnings.

Plus, a group of lucky Brits who bagged themselves £3.2million  revealed how they'll splash the cash.
