Alex

Alex, born in 1991, is the oldest of Dr Michael Mosley and Dr Clare Bailey's four children.

He currently works for a marketing consultancy firm.

He's previously helped set up a digital health start-up business.

Dr Michael and Dr Clare's son Jack is a junior doctor  and was born in 1993.

He worked on the front line during the Covid-19 pandemic and had worked at the Royal Preston Hospital.

Dr Michael wrote at the time about the experiences of his son working in the intensive care unit, and the worries he had about him contracting the illness at the start of the pandemic.

Jack has clearly inherited some of his dad's passions.

He previously worked on a research project looking into how some people are able to lose weight and keep it off, while others find it more difficult.

Dan

Dr Michael and Dr Clare's son Dan, born in 1995, previously lived and studied in Melbourne, Australia.

He returned to the UK in 2020 at the start of the Coronavirus pandemic.

He came down with the illness early on, with Dr Michael revealing in his newspaper column that he became unwell shortly after arriving back into the country.

According to Dan's LinkedIn page, he holds a Master's degree in Entrepreneurship & Management from the University of Bath.

He now works for a health consultancy company called Q5.

He's also a big fan of extreme sports, particularly on snow or water.

His mother revealed she'd caught up with him in 2023 after he returned to Australia to travel.

Kate

Kate is the youngest child and only daughter of the couple and was born in 2000.

Dr Michael Mosley spoke about raising four children to The Sydney Morning Herald.

He said: "Our daughter Kate is exactly like her mother – sociable and very likeable."

Very little else is known about Kate, however she has been mentioned in Dr Clare's Instagram posts where she says she went to visit her and her flatmates.

All four children flew to Symi to help their mother and the authorities to search for their father when he went missing on Wednesday June 5, 2024.

His wife Clare said in a statement shared with the BBC: "I don’t know quite where to begin with this.

“It’s devastating to have lost Michael, my wonderful, funny, kind and brilliant husband.

“We had an incredibly lucky life together.

“We loved each other very much and were so happy together.

"I am incredibly proud of our children, their resilience and support over the past days.

"My family and I have been hugely comforted by the outpouring of love from people from around the world.

“It’s clear that Michael meant a huge amount to so many of you.

"We’re taking comfort in the fact that he so very nearly made it.

“He did an incredible climb, took the wrong route and collapsed where he couldn’t be easily seen by the extensive search team.

"Michael was an adventurous man, it’s part of what made him so special.

"We are so grateful to the extraordinary people on Symi who have worked tirelessly to help find him.

“Some of these people on the island, who hadn’t even heard of Michael, worked from dawn till dusk unasked.

“We’re also very grateful to the press who have dealt with us with great respect.

"I feel so lucky to have our children and my amazing friends.

“Most of all, I feel so lucky to have had this life with Michael.

"Thank you all."
