Kate Middleton is known for re-wearing items in her fashion-forward wardrobe, especially when it comes to accessories. One pair of summer sandals in particular have proved a favourite with the Princess of Wales as she has been spotted sporting them on many occasions over the years.

The Carina Suede Wedge Espadrille Sandals by Spanish designer Castañer would typically set you back £145 but are currently on sale for 30% less at Farfetch - on sale for £85. Saving shoppers £36 on the 'classic shoe for summer', it's a great time to take advantage of the deal as they are cheaper at that retailer than John Lewis or Harvey Nichols.

Kate and her husband Prince William took a trip to Barry Island in Wales where the royal wore her Carina sandals with a now sold-out floral Emilia Wickstead dress. Stocked in sizes three to eight, the 'beautifully handmade' shoe is very flattering as it will elongate your legs and as the heel is a wedge, shoppers have described them as 'comfortable' even when worn all day.

The neutral coloured sandals will pair well with any outfit, be it jeans, a dress or a skirt. Featuring a tie-fastening ankle strap, they can be styled in multiple different ways and will ensure they don't slip around on your foot. Raffia is one of the top trends for the summer season so we can see the sandals being worn time and time again.

One shopper said of the sandals: "Took my normal size, very soft suede and very comfortable. I'd say my foot is slightly on the wide side and still fitted well, not narrow. Like the neutral color and suede vs canvas. Well made and a good classic for the summer."

Another customer wrote: "I ordered a size 6 (39) and was expecting them to be slightly smaller than UK made shoes, but they fit true to size, and are the softest suede leather. Beautifully packaged too."

However, that wasn't the case for everyone and some wearers did struggle with the sizing. A third person explained: "Beautiful espadrilles but too big. I'm a 5.5 and ordered a 5. They are good in the length but slightly too wide and huge on the heel. Despite tying tight they weren't secure."

As the sandals are made from suede, we wouldn't recommend wearing them during wet weather because the fabric could stain. Alternatively, you can buy this Shoe Protector Spray for £12 from Amazon that will repel water and oil.

For a similar style with a slightly lower heel, these John Lewis Lloret Suede Espadrille Sandals are £69 and have been described as 'very comfortable for a long event'. Amazon stock the Lora Dora Espadrille Wedge Sandals for £24.99 in an array of colours. Shoppers have 'got loads of compliments on them' and they are 'great quality' for the price.
