JOE Swash left fans doing a double take after claiming to have spotted the Loch Ness monster during a family trip to Scotland.

The ex-EastEnders star, 42, and wife Stacey Solomon, 34, enjoyed a getaway in their new campervan  earlier this year.

They were joined by their kids Rex, four, Rose, two, and one-year-old Belle plus Stacey's eldest sons Zachary, 15, Leighton, ten.

In a throwback photo, Joe posed for a smiling snap with his family in front of a lake and rolling hill backdrop.

He captioned it: "Reminiscing on our trip to Scotland, what a time!! Takes us back to our Nessie hunting adventures!"

Joe then shared a second snap of what appeared to be the Loch Ness Monster - with the sea creature bobbing along in the background.

The I'm A Celeb star added: "Also, I swear there’s something in the water in the 2nd photo?"

Many fans were left intrigued by the possibility of a sighting - while others were convinced it was photoshopped.

One wrote: "Did you photoshop Nessie in?"

A second posted: "that's definitely her. We Scots know she lives there for sure!"

A third said: "Actually just weed myself a little. Crikey guys I think you found Nessie!!!"

Another added: "I think its Nessie behind you both," followed by a laughing face emoji.

Nessie is said to haunt Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands and many have claimed to have "spotted" it over the years.

Nessie was first "spotted" in the year 565 when a biography of Irish monk Saint Columba mentioned a giant "water beast" dragging a man to his death in Scotland's River Ness.

But wider interest in the monster was not sparked until much later, in 1933, when a road was built along Loch Ness making it far less isolated.

Several people came forward within months of the road opening, claiming to have seen a "giant beast" lurking near the water.

The legend of Nessie has since become the subject of a host of documentaries and films, as well as a popular feature in pop culture.

Campervan on the road

Back in February, the Swash-Solomon family took their new vehicle on the road for a trip in Scotland.

But the adventure hasn't all been plain sailing so far.

Just hours into their travels, they had to stop after Stacey forgot to secure cupboards inside the van which resulted in everything falling out of them wreaking havoc in the back.

The pair were also forced to sleep in a car park after another mishap.

And the latest disaster, caught on camera, saw the couple's £70,000 motorhome become wedged at a McDonald's drive-thru in Fort William, Highlands.

A clip of the blunder shows Joe, who was tasked with collecting the food without Stacey, trying to squeeze through the tight gap at the restaurant.

Staff at the branch can be seen trying to direct him as he attempts to manoeuvre the vehicle between the bollards.

Stacey later revealed the hilarious truth behind the two-and-a-half hour trip - and revealed Joe had "lied" to her.
